Construmat, the construction trade fair organized by Fira de Barcelona and featuring over 300 participating companies, has already filled 100% of its exhibition space a month before its celebration.
In this way, the most emblematic event in the sector in Spain increases its offering and versatility, surpassing by 50% the number of companies that participated in 2023, and multiplies business opportunities for all types of industry professionals.
Leading companies and the most representative associations and entities of the construction industry have overwhelmingly supported the 23rd edition of the event, which will bring together, from May 21st to 23rd, practically all the segments that are part of the Spanish construction industry. In this sense, Construmat has increased its commercial area by 50%, bringing together more than 300 direct and indirect exhibitors representing over 600 brands, occupying more than 10,000 m2 of net exhibition space in Pavilion 2 of the Gran Via venue of Fira de Barcelona.
Among the companies participating in the trade fair are names like Alsina, ArcelorMittal, Breinco, Casas Inhaus, Cementos Molins, Consorcio Passivhaus, Cosentino, Fassa Bortolo, Gabarró, Hercal, Jung, Kerakoll, Layher, Rehatec, Roca, Rehau, or Tecnol. As for the associative fabric, entities such as APCE España, ASEFAVE, AECOM, ANERR, CNC, COAM, CGATE, CSCAE, Federación de Gremios de la Construcción, or Fundación Laboral de la Construcción, among others, have supported the trade fair.
The director of the fair, Roger Bou, has stated that "the significant growth we are presenting this year is not only in the number of companies, but also in the versatility, quality of the offering, and opportunities for all professionals".
For his part, the president of the event and vice president of APCE España, Xavier Vilajoana, has assured that "Construmat 2024 will be more than ever an opportunity to invigorate the industry and learn about the most innovative and sustainable solutions available in the market to address the main challenges of the present and future of the sector".
Solutions for everyone
Therefore, sustainability and innovation will be the focus of an edition that will offer the latest market trends for the main needs related to construction, rehabilitation, maintenance, and services.
Indeed, the growth of the trade fair translates into greater versatility in its offering, which will encompass machinery and tools, industrialized construction, facades and roofs, insulation, urban planning and outdoor space, design and interior design, flooring and cladding, bathrooms, BIM and ICT for project and construction, kitchens, lighting, energy management and capture, enclosures, carpentry, locksmithing, or solar protection, among others.
A wide program of professional activities completes the offering of Construmat with the Sustainable Building Congress, featuring 50 sessions and talks where real sustainable construction projects will be presented; the PropCon-Hub, an innovation zone for startups with an investment forum; a space for workshops and practical workshops; a wood construction area; and a new edition of the prestigious Construmat Awards, curated by the Mies van der Rohe Foundation.
Morocco, guest country
On the other hand, the trade fair has once again focused on international markets in the Mediterranean region such as Morocco or Turkey, countries that offer a wide range of opportunities for both large construction companies and smaller auxiliary service companies.
As a major innovation in this area, Morocco will be the guest country of Construmat 2024, making Barcelona the meeting point between the needs of the North African country and the companies of the country with the presence of an official Moroccan commercial mission composed of seven companies, six sector federations, and the architectural colleges and associations of builders and developers.
