More than 185,000 tourist homes and apartments have the potential to become energy-sustainable, thanks to the agreement reached between Endesa and FEVITUR, the Spanish Federation of Associations of Tourist Homes and Apartments.
Through this partnership, all members will have easy access to Única, which customizes their energy supplies with renewable, sustainable, and green energy through a stable monthly fee.
The agreement has multiple objectives. Firstly, it aligns with the decarbonization goals of the buildings and construction sector. According to the International Energy Agency, this sector accounts for 30% of the total global final energy consumption and 27% of total emissions from the energy sector. All homes and apartments represented by FEVITUR, encompassed in 22 associations, will have the opportunity to make a difference and consume energy more sustainably.
In this regard, Endesa offers all members 100% renewable and green electricity certified by the National Commission of Markets and Competition (CNMC). If they also subscribe to gas, Endesa offsets CO2 emissions related to gas consumption for Única customers by participating in forest projects that contribute to climate change mitigation, verified by leading national and international standards. These projects focus on emission reduction through the forest's sink effect, making them accredited as sustainable due to the social benefits for the local population and helping preserve vulnerable species.
Furthermore, the alliance will provide managers and owners with the peace of mind of knowing how much they will pay each month, regardless of whether the property is rented out for the entire month or not. This simplified management involves paying a stable and personalized fee. Única's rate is individually tailored to each supply's consumption, and FEVITUR members can self-contract it through an exclusive website. Using predictive models, the platform analyzes the supply's consumption history and presents various personalized modalities adapted to their habits, including electricity, gas, and assistance services.
