Edison Next has been selected by 13 Spanish municipalities to handle the installation and implementation of a sustainable Christmas lighting system.
This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to maintain a tradition that undeniably brings a unique charm to our streets and homes during the holidays but has, for years, posed a significant energy efficiency challenge. To uphold this tradition while making a more responsible use of energy resources, the 13 municipalities have chosen to rely on the energy solutions provided by Edison Next.
The company has already installed a total of 8,205 motifs across the different municipalities, including 3 trees standing at 12 meters tall and 6 large illuminated figures. The deployment of cutting-edge technology, such as LED lighting, has been crucial to ensuring maximum efficiency and reduced energy consumption in this Christmas lighting. The implementation of these projects has required a total investment exceeding 2,084,000 euros, demonstrating Edison Next's financial commitment to this sustainable initiative.
A notable example of this commitment is evident in the ambitious installation of 5,300 efficient Christmas motifs in the city of Palma de Mallorca. This large project, inaugurated a few days ago, involves an investment of over 1.5 million euros and promises to be more than just decoration; it will be a gift and a spectacle of light and color for the senses of residents and visitors, contributing significantly to the economic and energy savings of the city.
The city of Terrassa has joined this sustainable holiday vision by installing 900 Christmas motifs. Similarly, the commitment to sustainability has extended to the Catalan municipality of Sant Feliu de Guíxols, where Edison Next has been entrusted with installing 356 motifs, in addition to 2 imposing Christmas trees over 12 meters and a large illuminated figure.
This shared vision for energy efficiency not only adds festive charm to these municipalities but sets a new standard for more responsible holiday celebrations. In addition to La Palma, Terrassa, and Sant Feliu de Guíxols, this initiative has captured the interest of another 10 municipalities that have enthusiastically joined this movement towards a more sustainable and environmentally-friendly Christmas.
