Sebastián Machado is the person leading Mano Arquitectura, the studio he founded in 2004 with the intention of designing buildings in a careful and detailed manner.
Sebastián's professional journey and commitment to architecture have left a significant mark on the world of construction and design. A journey that began at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), where he combined theoretical learning in the field of Architecture with practical experience in renowned firms. Upon completing his university studies, he moved to Barcelona in search of new professional opportunities.
In the Catalan city, Sebastián started his career in the Urban Development department at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), overseeing projects executed in cities such as Shanghai and Beijing. Later, he validated his degree at the University of La Salle, solidifying his international training and experience.
His knowledge, combined with his experience, certifies him as one of the architects who best integrates constructions into the places where they are built. For Machado, now celebrating his 20th anniversary as the founder of Mano Arquitectura, a fundamental pillar in architecture is a deep understanding of the places where his projects are constructed.
Based on this premise, Mano Arquitectura bases its work on the use of local materials and simplicity in design, using the surroundings as a source of inspiration and as raw material to shape new ideas.
Throughout his more than two decades of professional practice at Mano Arquitectura, Sebastián Machado has designed and built over 100 residential, hotel, and commercial projects in privileged locations in Spain, including cities such as Barcelona, Ibiza, Baqueira Beret, Bilbao, and Madrid. His experience extends to other regions in Europe, such as Andorra, France, and Switzerland. Additionally, he collaborated on international projects with the renowned Ricardo Bofill studio, participating in architectural initiatives in Saudi Arabia.
